Poems

Versailles

Love that once bloomed
in the gardens of Versailles,
filled with hope,
like violets in the gentle breeze,
swaying to the sweet music of our gaiety,
beneath the golden canopy, where whispers dance,
beautiful, were those words uttered,
promises made to be held onto forever,
but seasons soon turned into winter,
your sweet smile turned sinister,
as you caged me in Bastille,
my little heart still held onto what could have been.

shadows of gloom fell where light once played.
as the heavenly ambers of warmth consumed me,
our little snow globe played it's bitter sweet melody
echoes of our laughter slowly fade
screams of epiphany rings through halls
shattering castles of dreams we once made.
